Avy Jetter writes, draws and self publishes the comic book Nuthin Good Ever Happens at 4 a.m. and is an avid horror and gore movie fan. The comic book series is about a zombie outbreak that happens in Oakland ca. It is the story of four friends who must rely on each other to traverse the city and search out other survivors, friends, and shelter. It is also a coming of age story where Black and Brown teens are the featured characters as well as themes of redemption, restoration and choosing one’s own family.
Avy Jetter lives and works in Oakland ca. and devotes her time to organizing community events and zine fests. And when she isn’t drawing monsters, weirdos or just regular folks she self publishes zines about race, culture and Black history.
