Onika can currently can be seen in the feature film “The Dinner” starring opposite Richard Gere, Laura Linney, Rebecca Hall and Steve Coogan (Written and Directed by Oren Moverman). She has also had a recurring and co-starring roles on The Affair, Blue Bloods, The Path, Law and Order, Orange Is The New Black, The Night Of, Dexter, Damages, Political Animals, Do No Harm, The Bitter Pill, Chapelle’s Show, The Jamie Foxx Show. She was handpicked by Director David LaChapelle for the late, great Amy Winehouse’s video “Tears Dry On Their Own”.
Born in Berkeley, California, Onika is a product of a New Years Eve union between a well known Bay Area Artist and a Spritual Counselor / Activist. After winning several poetry competitions, performing in local talent shows and dancing in street competitions and at Fisherman’s Wharf in San Francisco with the breakdancing group “The Lady UFO’s” for meal money, she was accepted to the Berkeley Arts Magnet School and secured a scholarship with the Bay Area Youth Theatre, where she studied Acting, Dance (Afro-Haitian, Jazz,Tap) and Voice, starring in several of their seasonal productions.
